Red Deer Homeless Foundation unveils Project Nexus
The Red Deer Homeless Foundation has unveiled Project Nexus, a proposed new campus in Red Deer to address homelessness.
Last week, the City of Red Deer announced that city council will consider a rezoning application for the property at 7740 40 Avenue at first reading on Feb. 3 that would enable future shelter use.
The application, which was submitted by the Red Deer Homeless Foundation, proposes an amendment to the land use bylaw to change its designation to a Direct Control District from Industrial.
This means, if approved, it would be allowed to be used as a shelter in the future.
