This week in RDP Athletics: Jan. 9-11

This week, the Red Deer Polytechnic basketball and volleyball teams, along with the Queens hockey squad, will challenge the SAIT Trojans. The RDP Kings hockey team will play the Briercrest College Clippers on the road.

The RDP Queens will face the Trojans in Calgary.

Kings vs. Trojans | Gary W. Harris Canada Games Centre | Friday, January 9 | 8 p.m.

The Kings Volleyball team (6-2) and the SAIT Trojans (2-7) will meet in Red Deer.

Evan Ockerman, an RDP Bachelor of Education student, ranks first in the league with 1.05 blocks per set.

Kings at Trojans | Saturday, January 10 | 8 p.m.

The RDP Kings will play the Trojans on the road.

Basketball

Queens at SAIT | Friday, January 9 | 6 p.m.

The Red Deer Polytechnic Queens basketball team (3-7) will tip off against the SAIT Trojans (4-6) in Calgary. The Queens have averaged 15.2 steals per game.

Queens vs. SAIT | Gary W. Harris Canada Games Centre | Saturday, January 10 | 6 p.m.

The Queens will compete against the Trojans at home.

Kings at SAIT | Friday, January 9 | 8 p.m.

The RDP Kings (1-9) will face the Trojans (10-0) on the road. The Kings have averaged 35.6 rebounds per game.

Kings vs. SAIT | Gary W. Harris Canada Games Centre | Saturday, January 10 | 8 p.m.

The Red Deer Polytechnic Kings basketball team will host the SAIT Trojans.

Hockey

Queens at Trojans | Saturday, January 10 | 7:15 p.m.

The RDP Queens (11-4) will face off against the SAIT Trojans (3-10) in Calgary.

Queens goaltender Elizabeth Campbell has the best goals-against average (1.01) and save percentage (0.948) in the league.

Kings at Briercrest College | Friday, January 9 | 6 p.m.

The RDP Kings hockey team (11-1) will challenge the Briercrest College Clippers (5-7) in Saskatchewan.

Nolan Doell, an RDP Bachelor of Education Middle Years student, leads ACAC Men’s Hockey with 14 goals and 22 points.
