Lacombe Police make drug seizure during traffic stop

Jan 6, 2026 | 11:41 AM

Lacombe Police seized various amounts of drugs during a recent traffic stop.

They say it was about 10:30 p.m. on Jan. 3 when members conducted a traffic stop in the parking lot of a business near 49 Avenue and Hwy 2A; this after observing a vehicle displaying a license plate that did not match the vehicle.

“During the stop, officers observed a container holding a white substance believed to be cocaine, as well as a pipe commonly associated with the consumption of crack cocaine,” say Lacombe Police in a release.

“The sole occupant of the vehicle, a 46-year-old female from Red Deer, was arrested at the scene.”

A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of about 2.05 pounds of white substance believed to be cocaine. It was packaged and stamped in a manner consistent with drug trafficking, police add.

The individual has been released on conditions and is scheduled to appear in Red Deer Provincial Court on Feb. 26.

At this time, the name of the individual has been withheld pending the formal swearing of charges.
