Friends of the Red Deer Public Library First Thursday concert

The Friends of the Red Deer Public Library are pleased to present pianist Dr. Roger Admiral, who will present a recital featuring works by Bach, Haydn, Chopin and Rachmaninoff.

The concert will take place from 12:15 to 1 p.m. at the Red Deer Public Library’s Downtown Branch.

Dr. Admiral performs music from the 17th to the 21st century, and teaches piano at the University of Alberta, Augustana Campus.

Past performances include György Ligeti’s Piano Concerto with the Victoria Symphony Orchestra, Matthew Ricketts’ Meloscuro with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra, the piano works of Iannis Xenakis for Vancouver New Music, and collaborations on recitals for Curto-Circuito de Música Contemporânea Brazil, Festival of Contemporary Polish Music (Wrocław), New Music Concerts (Toronto), Lincoln Center’s Great Performers series, Carnegie / Weill Hall, Time: Spans (New York City) and Sudwestrundfunk Sinfonieorchester for Donaueschinger Musiktage.

If you are unable to attend the concert in person, the concert will be streamed live on their YouTube channel and at rdpl.org/first-thursday.

Donations

Donations made in support of the First Thursday concerts have been used to pay fees and expenses for the musicians presenting at the Library. If anyone wishes to support these concerts, cheques should be made out to the Red Deer Public Library, with a memo for Concerts. A charitable receipt will be issued.
