Town of Ponoka’s annual Christmas tree pickup set for January 20

The Town of Ponoka says they’ll collect compostable Christmas trees on January 20.

Residents are asked to place their Christmas tree in their back alley for pickup no later than Monday, Jan. 19, as the town will begin the annual collection the next day by making one pass down each back alley in the community.

However, if residents do not have a back alley to place their Christmas trees, they can do so near the curb at the front of their property. The town says it’s important to ensure the trees are visible for pick up.

Weather conditions may delay the town’s Christmas tree pick-up as crews may have to turn their attention to snow operations.

Ponoka residents can also take their trees to the Waste Transfer Station for free.
