Two commercial break-ins over the weekend in Lacombe

Dec 8, 2025 | 4:36 PM

Lacombe Police are investigating two suspected break and enters from over the weekend.

In the first case, they say they’re investigating a break, enter and mischief from a car dealership in the 5600 block of Hwy 2A.

Members responded Dec. 8 to a report that an unknown suspect had gained entry to a locked compound behind the dealership sometime over the weekend.

A suspect or suspects cut through a section of the chain-link fence to access secured areas.

Once inside the compound, they damaged a vehicle by drilling into the gas tank and stealing fuel, police allege.

Video surveillance has been obtained and is currently being reviewed as part of the ongoing investigation.

In the second incident, this time break, enter and theft, police say, the alleged break-in occurred at a local telecommunication utility building in the 5100 block of 50 Street.

Again, police responded on Monday the 8th, noting the incident is believed to have occurred sometime between Dec. 5-8.

Investigation determined that an unknown suspect or suspects gained entry to the building through a rear door, which showed signs of forced entry. Once inside, they stole several items, including a quantity of copper cable.

LPS is requesting the public’s assistance in asking anyone in the area who may have residential, business, or doorbell camera footage from over the weekend to review their recordings for any suspicious persons or activity.

Lacombe Police say they have not yet concluded if these two incidents are connected or not.
