Wetaskiwin RCMP respond to fatal collision on Highway 814

The Wetaskiwin RCMP are investigating after a fatal collision on Highway 814 at Township Road 480 this morning.

At 7:54 a.m., police responded to a serious head-on motor vehicle collision near Millet and, on arrival, found a 70-year-old man deceased.

The man, who’s from Sherwood Park, was the sole occupant of the SUV that was involved in the collision.

The other vehicle was a school bus that had five people onboard, including four students. None of them were injured.

Police say the investigation is ongoing and believe poor road conditions may have been a contributing factor.

They remained on scene for several hours investigating the incident, and normal traffic flow has resumed.

Alberta RCMP sends their condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.
