Two charged in central Alberta homicide

Maskwacis RCMP and the Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit have laid charges following an investigation into a homicide that occurred in 2023 on the Montana First Nation.

Maskwacis resident Brandon Dean Regamey, 29, and Edmonton resident Jaden Michael Omeasoo have been charged with manslaughter.

Police were called to the Montana First Nation on May 10, 2023 after a deceased male was found at a rural location.

The deceased, who was identified as Edmonton resident Ryker Dingman, was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, where the cause of death was deemed a homicide.

The Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit took charge of the investigation and determined the deceased was in an alleged altercation at a residence in Edmonton and was taken to and left at the rural location on the Montana First Nation.

Police say Omeasoo was taken before a Justice of the Peace and remanded into custody with his next court date set for Nov. 25, 2025, at the Alberta Court of Justice in Wetaskiwin.
