City of Red Deer and RCMP seeking public input on Annual Policing Plan

The City of Red Deer and the Red Deer RCMP are seeking community feedback to help solidify priorities as they develop the 2026-2028 Annual Policing Plan.

The Annual Policing Plan highlights local priorities for the RCMP to focus on over the next two years. The plan is put together by both the city and the RCMP, which incorporates crime data and public input into the decisions made.

“Encouraging community members to share their experiences and considering that feedback, as well as crime statistics and other data, is vital to ensuring policing priorities reflect the true needs of the community,” as written in a media release.

Public feedback can be submitted through an online survey at engage.reddeer.ca, which will be available until Dec. 7, 2025.

Once the plan is finalized, it will take effect on April 1, 2026, and replace the previous 2024-26 plan. The last APP factored in public feedback and identified three priorities, including intelligence-led police response, police visibility and public safety, and community engagement and partnerships.
