Red Deer Museum to host Rare & Remarkable! Artisan Market

Nov 17, 2025 | 11:09 AM

The annual Rare & Remarkable! Artisan Market is slated for Nov. 21-22 at the Red Deer Museum + Art Gallery (MAG).

A members-only time from 5 to 8 p.m. is scheduled for Nov. 21, with the public welcome Nov. 22 from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

According to the MAG:

The Rare & Remarkable Artisan Market features a curated selection of local artisans and makers, offering a unique shopping experience just in time for holiday gift giving. Taking place in the permanent exhibit ‘Remarkable Red Deer: Stories from the Heart of the Parkland’, the Market is presented in a one-of-a-kind setting that encourages learning more about our community, buying local, and the chance to take in the incredible artwork in Galleries One & Two.

FRIDAY: Open to members of the Red Deer & District Museum Society only. Members are invited to be the first to experience the Rare & Remarkable Artisan Market, gather with one another to catch up, and enjoy a beverage or two – plus some delicious nibbles provided by Sprouts Catering. A small way for the MAG to say thank you to our members for another great year.

SATURDAY: Open to the general public. Admission is free with donations made to the MAG always appreciated. We’re bringing Rotary Recreation Park to life with our friends at the Golden Circle Seniors Resource Centre, Norwegian Laft Hus, and Red Deer Pottery Club (inside the Rec Centre Lobby) who will also be hosting their markets on this day. Plan to wander the park to find a few treats and treasures.

The MAG notes you can join the museum as a member by making a donation to the venue.

They also strongly encourage bringing cash and tote bags. In addition, they suggest asking the makers and artisans about their process, which can make a purchase more meaningful.

Parking at the MAG and Rec Centre is free.

The market is sponsored by the City of Red Deer, the Alberta Foundation for the Arts, and Pattison Media.
