This week in RDP Athletics: Nov. 14-16

The Red Deer Polytechnic Kings hockey team will host the Portage Voyageurs. Both RDP volleyball teams will challenge the Northwestern Polytechnic Wolves and The King’s University Eagles. The Kings and Queens basketball squads will play games on the road.

Here is a summary of the upcoming competition:

Hockey

Kings vs. Voyageurs | Gary W. Harris Canada Games Centre | Friday, November 14 | 7 p.m.

The first-place RDP Kings hockey team (8-0) will face off against the third-seed Portage College Voyageurs (3-3) at the Gary W. Harris Canada Games Centre.

Nolan Doell (Bachelor of Education) leads the league in goals (eight) and points (14).

Kings vs. Voyageurs | Gary W. Harris Canada Games Centre | Saturday, November 15 | 1 p.m.

The Kings and Voyageurs will complete their two-game series.

Volleyball

Queens vs. Wolves | Gary W. Harris Canada Games Centre | Friday, November 14 | 6 p.m.

The South Division’s second-place Queens volleyball team (4-1) will host the North Division’s second-seed Northwestern Polytechnic Wolves (3-2).

The Red Deer Polytechnic Queens have averaged 9.47 kills per set.

Queens vs. Eagles | Gary W. Harris Canada Games Centre | Saturday, November 15 | 6 p.m.

The RDP Queens (4-1) will face The King’s University Eagles (3-2).

Kings vs. Wolves | Gary W. Harris Canada Games Centre | Friday, November 14 | 8 p.m.

The fourth-seeded Red Deer Polytechnic Kings volleyball team (3-2) will play the North Division’s third-place Wolves (2-3) in Red Deer. Colby Nemeth ranks second in the ACAC with 4.08 kills per set.

Kings vs. Eagles | Gary W. Harris Canada Games Centre | Saturday, November 15 | 8 p.m.

The RDP Kings (3-2) will compete against The King’s University Eagles (1-4).

Basketball

Queens at Northwestern Polytechnic | Friday, November 14 | 6 p.m.

The ACAC South Division’s sixth-place Red Deer Polytechnic Queens basketball team (1-4) will challenge the North Division’s sixth seed Northwestern Polytechnic Wolves (0-6) in Grande Prairie.

The Queens have successfully connected on 26.4 per cent of their field goal attempts.

Queens at The King’s University | Saturday, November 15 | 6 p.m.

The Queens (1-4) will play The King’s University Eagles (3-1) on the road.

Kings at Northwestern Polytechnic | Friday, November 14 | 8 p.m.

The RDP Kings basketball squad (0-5) will tip off against the Wolves (1-5). The Kings have averaged 10.4 steals per game.

Kings at The King’s University | Saturday, November 15 | 8 p.m.

The Red Deer Polytechnic Kings (0-5) will meet the Eagles (0-4) in Edmonton.
