Agri-Trade Equipment Expo celebrates a successful show

The winners of the Agri-Trade Equipment Expo’s 17th annual Ag Innovations competition have been announced.

The competition was held on Nov. 6, which showcased new and ground-breaking ideas that will impact the agriculture industry.

It featured five finalists, which were selected by a panel of farmers, but only two came out on top.

Threshhold UAV – SwarmBox was named the winner of the $20,000 Judges’ Choice Award, and Wandering Shepherd – Wireless Ruman Bolus won the $5,000 Farmers’ Choice Award.

“Ag Innovations is always a standout moment within the expo as it showcases the creativity and problem-solving spirit that drives the industry forward,” said Krissy Fiddler, Agri-Trade Show Manager, in a media release. “These innovations are designed to help farmers, and it was exciting to see such a great turnout on the new Centrium Stage to cheer on the innovators.”

In the meantime, following the conclusion of the Expo last week, organizers say it was another successful event.

Throughout the three-day show, they connected farmers with the latest equipment, cutting-edge technology and expert insights.

“We measure our success by the feedback we receive from exhibitors, and this year was exceptional,” Fiddler added. “The consistent message we heard was that sales were strong, which is the truest indicator of the event’s impact on the industry. We’re grateful to all the attendees who came out to support the show and connect with our exhibitors.”

The Expo also set new records, including holding the largest outdoor exhibit area to date and a sold-out indoor space. Over 500 exhibitors had a display at the show, which attracted thousands of attendees. Organizers admit, unseasonably warm weather also played a factor in the success.

Some of the exhibitors and attendees travelled to Red Deer from Australia, China, Germany, Northern Ireland, Nigeria, the Philippines, Japan, Mexico, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

“We were proud to see such strength in our Canadian industry demonstrated by showcasing world-class innovation and technology,” said Ryan Voice, Chairman of the Industry Advisory Committee. “It was also exciting to welcome increased participation from international companies looking to build partnerships and expand their dealer networks in Canada.”

The Agri-Trade Equipment Expo is set to return to Westerner Park in 2026 from November 11-13.
