The Red Deer Rebels bounced back from a loss on Wednesday to defeat the Regina Pats on Friday night, 4-3 at the Brandt Centre.

Captain Talon Brigley scored twice, meanwhile, Jaxon Fuder and Beckett Hamilton notched a pair of assists. Forwards Samuel Drancak and Ty Coupland also found the back of the net.

In net, goaltender Peyton Shore stood on his head and made 33 saves on 36 shots.

Brigley opened the scoring in the first period with a power-play goal just two minutes and 20 seconds into the game. The captain redirected a shot from forward Ty Coupland while standing near the left side of the net.

In the second period, the Pats scored the lone goal of the frame with a power play marker from Keets Fawcett.

However, the Rebels put together an impressive third period, scoring three goals and holding off a big push by Regina to secure the victory.

Just 50 seconds into the final period, Brigley scored his second of the game, firing in the rebound off a shot from Drancak.

Nearly three minutes later, Drancak potted his fourth goal in four games on the power play. The import forward from Czechia fired a shot through traffic from the high slot to give Red Deer a 3-1 lead.

Late in the game, the Pats inched closer with another goal from Fawcett on the power play. His second goal of the night pulled Regina within one of tying it.

However, with 2:08 left in the game, Coupland potted Red Deer’s third power play goal of the night off a one-timer from the bottom of the left circle. Forward Beckett Hamilton fed Coupland with a cross-ice pass.

Fawcett completed the hat trick on the power play with less than 30 seconds left as Regina refused to go away quietly. The Rebels, however, survived the comeback push from their opponents to return to the win column.

Next up, the Rebels will head to Moose Jaw for a matchup with the Warriors on Sunday at 3 p.m. mountain time.
