Lacombe Police Service investigates two failure-to-stop incidents

Nov 5, 2025 | 2:07 PM

The Lacombe Police Service continues to investigate following two separate incidents where vehicles failed to stop for police on Tuesday.

The incidents happened on Nov. 4, and in both cases, the police did not pursue the vehicles due to public safety concerns.

The first happened at approximately 10:40 a.m. when the Lacombe Police Service attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a black Dodge Ram in the Midway Centre area.

Police say the vehicle was confirmed to be a part of a stolen vehicle investigation by the Wainwright RCMP. The truck, which had a license plate number of 12P853, failed to stop for police and fled the area southbound on Highway 2.

The second incident took place later that evening when police received reports of individuals entering vehicles in Blackfalds.

A vehicle associated with the incident was later observed by officers travelling southbound on the C&E Trail in Lacombe. It was described as a silver GMC pickup truck with an Alberta license plate CCS8858.

Police tried to conduct a traffic stop near Lake Sgt. Road heading eastbound, but the vehicle failed to stop and continued on.

As the investigation continues, the Lacombe Police Service is collaborating with neighbouring RCMP detachments to identify all suspects involved.

Anyone with information regarding these incidents is asked to contact the Lacombe Police Service at 403-782-3279 or your local police agency. To remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or submit a tip online at www.tipsubmit.com.
