Didsbury RCMP arrest man for alleged sexual offences against youth

The Didsbury RCMP have arrested a man from Carstairs following an investigation into allegations of sexual offences committed against youth.

Police say on Nov. 3, they began an investigation into the allegations.

Investigators, with assistance from the Luna Child and Youth Advocacy Centre in Calgary, found that the victim had been assaulted on two occasions between 2024 and 2025. During the 2025 sexual assault, it is alleged that the accused photographed the victim during the assault.

That evening, the RCMP arrested the accused and executed a search warrant at his residence, resulting in the seizure of numerous items.

As a result, 41-year-old Nathan Engen of Carstairs has been charged with two counts of sexual assault, two counts of sexual exploitation, sexual interference, and for making and possessing child sexual abuse and exploitation material.
