Wolf Creek trustees appoint Luci Henry as board chair

Luci Henry will serve as board chair for the upcoming year at Wolf Creek Public Schools.

Henry, who was re-elected on Oct. 20 for Ward A, was sworn in with her fellow trustees in a ceremony this week, then appointed chair by her colleagues.

The rest of the board includes Vice-chair Lana Thompson (Ward B), Jamie Coston (Ward C), Brent Buchanan (Ward D), Paula Law (Ward D), and Karla Danser (Ward E).

“It’s a tremendous honour to continue serving as board chair and to help guide this new chapter for Wolf Creek Public Schools,” said Henry, now in her third term as trustee for Clive.

“With a mix of experienced and new voices at the table, we have a wonderful opportunity to bring fresh perspectives while building on the strong foundation of trust, collaboration, and student-focused decision-making that defines this division. I’m looking forward to working together on our new four-year plan and continuing our advocacy for the needs of our students and communities.”

Trustee and vice-chair Thompson, who serves the Ponoka area, is on her second term.

“It’s inspiring to see new energy and ideas joining our board,” said Thompson. “As we move forward with our new education plan, we’ll continue to focus on what matters most — student success, staff well-being, and ensuring families have confidence in their local public schools. I’m proud to serve alongside my colleagues as we advocate for resources and support that reflect the realities and strengths of our rural communities.”

The board has established its regular monthly meeting dates will occur on the third Thursday of each month.
