Maskwacis RCMP find explosives following search warrant

Oct 28, 2025 | 9:55 AM

The Maskwacis RCMP have arrested a 32-year-old from Samson Cree Nation after finding several explosive devices in his residence last week.

Terrance Bruno was arrested on Oct. 23, 2025, for three counts of breach of a release order and possession of explosives contrary to order.

That day, the Maskwacis RCMP, with assistance from the Alberta RCMP Explosives Disposal Unit, conducted a search warrant at a residence in the community after receiving a tip that explosives might be present.

As a result, they found several improvised explosives that were destroyed on scene by the RCMP Explosive Disposal Unit.

Bruno was remanded into custody after a Judicial Interim Release Hearing and will appear in the Alberta Court of Justice in Wetaskiwin on Oct. 28.

Police also want to remind the public that with Halloween this week, fireworks can be extremely dangerous if not handled properly and that the modification of any fireworks can cause them to become very volatile.
