Red Deer RCMP investigating suspicious backyard fire

The Red Deer RCMP are turning to the public for information following a suspicious fire.

Police are investigating after they responded to a fire in the backyard of a residence in the Morrisoe Neighbourhood on Oct. 21.

They arrived at approximately 4 p.m., and the Red Deer Fire Department extinguished the fire, which had burned a large portion of the backyard, including a shed and part of a shared fence. However, no injuries were reported.

Witnesses had seen two male youths behind the yard before the fire started. They took off on bikes heading eastbound. One of the bikes was red.

Police say they are looking to identify and speak to the boys or any witnesses to the fire.
