Maskwacis RCMP seize firearms following search warrant

The Maskwacis RCMP have arrested a 39-year-old man for firearm-related charges following a search warrant of a residence at Ermineskin Cree Nation.

They conducted the search on Oct. 14 for a drug trafficking investigation and, as a result, police seized two illegally owned firearms, two illegally owned crossbows, ammunition, and drug paraphernalia.

Following the investigation, they arrested and charged the man from Maskwacis for two counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm, five counts of weapons possession contrary to order, and unsafe storage of a firearm.
