Our Best to You Handmade Market set for Oct. 24-26

One of Red Deer’s biggest craft shows is returning later this month.

The Our Best to You Handmade Market is set for Oct. 24-26 at the Prairie and Parkland Pavilions in Westerner Park, where over 150 artisans from across Canada will showcase their products for sale.

Event organizer Davis Ladouceur said the market will feature unique Canadian handmade items such as jewelry, fashion, body care, and home decor.

The show is a yearly tradition that began in 1991 and has always been about shining a spotlight on local vendors, but also about bringing in unique work from coast to coast.

“You’ll see work you’re not going to find at the other markets in town or at local stores. It’s really unique,” he said.

“We are definitely an annual holiday tradition. For a lot of people, we’re kind of a kick-off to the holiday season… We have a lot of multi-generational people come visit the show, and it’s not rare to see three generations in one family shopping together.”

On Oct. 24, the market will run from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., followed by 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Oct 25 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Oct. 26.

Ticket prices are $9 for general admission and $7 for those 65 years old and up. Kids aged 17 and under will get in free. There is also a special deal for those who come after 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 24; tickets are only $4.50.
