Shame on Me (Or Not)
I’ve been procrastinating in a big way!
Those weekly touchpoints we used to share? They’ve slowly dwindled and, well… all but disappeared. The last time I wrote was July 12 — yikes!
I blamed summer (because, you know… sunshine ). But then September came and went, and now here we are, deep into October, and finally I’m back in your inbox.
Maybe I didn’t have anything important to say.Maybe I was lazy.Maybe I just didn’t feel like it.Or maybe it was a combo platter of all three.
Whatever the reason, I’m not going to make this post about procrastination — clearly, I’m no expert on overcoming it!
So instead, how about we just…
Be gentle with ourselves (come on, you’re procrastinating on something too!)
Let a few things slide, knowing the world will keep spinning
Forgive ourselves for being gloriously, hopelessly human
Hit the reset button and start fresh
That’s what I’m doing.
Sixty Sparks Challenge – You’re Invited…
Hard as it is for me to believe, I’ll soon be leaving 59 behind and stepping onto the doorstep of 60! (And no, I’m not talking about my house address — though that would be easier to accept)
I’m coming to terms with what 60 looks like (no thank you, Botox) and what it feels like (hello, hip!). But mostly, I’m so, so, so grateful. We all have friends and/or family who never got the gift of this second half of life.
So I celebrate — my birthdays, my half-birthdays, your birthday (if you invite me!), the full moon… any excuse to toast life, count me in.
And if you’d like to help me celebrate this milestone, I’d love to count you in too!
The Scoop
For my birthday (November 13th), I want to make the world a wee bit better — and I need your help to do it.
I’ve started a new Facebook page called The Sixty Sparks Challenge, and I can’t think of a better way to celebrate than by gathering wonderful people like you — ready to go beyond everyday kindness and choose one purposeful, intentional, and deliberate act to make this wild world a little nicer.
You have your own unique magic — and together, we can create ripples of good that travel farther than any of us could alone.
Bonus: Kindness to yourself counts too. In fact, it’s where better-for-others begins.
