Advance voting in Red Deer begins on October 14

Advance voting for the municipal and school board elections begins next week, following the Thanksgiving long weekend.

From October 14–18, Red Deerians will get the opportunity to cast their vote from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.

The last opportunity for voters to cast a ballot will be on election day on October 20 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

To be eligible to vote, you must be a resident of the city, a Canadian citizen, and at least 18 years old. Residents can cast their ballot at any voting station in the city, and a voter card is not required.

Voting locations are as follows:

Advance Vote – 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

  • iHotel & Conference Centre Red Deer – 6500 67 Street
  • Baymont Hotel Red Deer – 4311 49 Avenue
  • Harvest Centre, Westerner Park – 4847A 19 Street

Election Day – 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

  • Northside Community Centre YMCA – 6391 76 Street
  • iHotel & Conference Centre Red Deer – 6500 67 Street
  • Parkland Mall – 6359 50 Avenue
  • Baymont Hotel Red Deer – 4311 49 Avenue
  • Deer Park Church – 2960 39 Street
  • Collicutt Centre – 3031 30 Avenue
  • Harvest Centre, Westerner Park – 4847A 19 Street

For rural residents planning to vote for the Red Deer Catholic Regional School Board, whose boundaries reach outside city limits, voting locations for the wards can be found in the map here.

To cast a vote, all residents must provide Identification that includes their name and current residential address. Voters who do not have acceptable identification with their current address may have another elector vouch for them.

Special ballots can also be requested online at specialballots.reddeer.ca for voters who are unable to vote in person. However, due to the Canada Post service disruption, Elections Red Deer will send special ballots by courier and fees are at the voters expense.
