Man charged after targeting Red Deer gas bars Friday night

Oct 6, 2025 | 2:27 PM

Charges have been laid following a string of incidents Friday night in Red Deer, allegedly perpetrated by one man.

RCMP now clarify that between 5 p.m and 5:40 p.m. on Friday, three gas stations were targeted.

Two of the incidents were ultimately deemed thefts because there was allegedly no violence involved, while the other involved a physical altercation.

RCMP say the incidents occurred at three different Co-op gas bars — one in Deer Park, one in Eastview, and another downtown.

“We ultimately obtained a search warrant for the suspect’s residence, executed it, and arrested a male. A search of the property revealed evidence linked to the robbery and two thefts,” says Cpl. Troy Savinkoff, Alberta RCMP.

The residence was located in Red Deer County, he adds.

Keevyn Marston, 20, of Innisfail, is charged with one count of robbery and two counts of theft under $5,000.

He appeared before a Justice of the Peace on Oct. 4, and was released with an upcoming court date on Oct. 24 in Red Deer.

RCMP add that no one was injured in any of the three incidents, and that some of the cash that was allegedly stolen has been retrieved.
