Bank robberies in Airdrie and Banff possibly linked to Red Deer incident

Oct 6, 2025 | 1:07 PM

RCMP say recent robberies in Airdrie and Banff may be linked to another in Red Deer.

The Red Deer incident happened around 12:35 p.m. on Sept. 25 at a downtown branch of Scotiabank.

The suspect was said to have gotten away on a silver bicycle.

The next alleged robbery happened Sept. 27 at the Main Street location of Servus Credit Union in Airdrie.

RCMP said the lone male suspect, who was concealing his face with a blue surgical mask, entered the financial institution and demanded money while threatening to shoot the cashier.

Then on Oct. 1, another occurred in Banff at the Bow Valley Credit Union.

RCMP say these are believed to be related based on the manner, physical descriptors and clothing.
