Municipal election forums to be held in Lacombe and Blackfalds

The Lacombe & District Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a pair of municipal election forums next week in an effort to help residents learn more about local candidates ahead of election day on Oct. 20.
The first will be for the City of Lacombe on Tuesday, Oct. 7 at 6 p.m. at the Lacombe Memorial Centre, followed by the Town of Blackfalds on Wednesday, Oct. 8 at 6 p.m. at the Blackfalds Community Centre. Doors will open for both of the forums at 5:30 p.m.
“These forums create an important space for dialogue between candidates and the public,” said Wendy Buyar, executive director of the Lacombe & District Chamber of Commerce in a media release. “Our goal is to help voters make informed decisions by learning where candidates stand on key priorities that affect our business community and quality of life — from responsible growth and infrastructure to supporting small business and building vibrant, resilient communities.”
Both forums are free to attend and will feature opening remarks from the candidates, a moderated question-and-answer segment, and closing statements.
