Red Deer County operations during the Canada Post strike

Officials with Red Deer County say they are working diligently to minimize current postal disruptions for residents and ratepayers.

“The County has implemented strategic measures to ensure our business operations continue smoothly,” said Simoi Cruickshank, Corporate Communications Manager. “These actions keep essential services operational, reflecting our commitment to serving the community during the national Canada Post strike.”

Residents are strongly encouraged to sign-up for electronic communications at www.rdcounty.ca/CanadaPostStrike to receive the latest updates from Planning and Development (Referrals); Assessment and Tax Information, and Utility Bill Information.

Drop-off options are available, and mail addressed to Red Deer County can be dropped off at Red Deer County Centre at 38106 Range Rd 275 during business hours (8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday); or deposited in the secure ‘drop box’ located at the main entrance (no cash).

Bills

• Bills are still being prepared and will be sent when service resumes;

• Bills over $5,000 will be couriered, if email is not available;

• Customers can contact Red Deer County to request a copy of their bill, hard copies can be picked up at the Red Deer County Center or emailed to customers;

• Payments are still due and standard penalties for late payments apply;

• After-hour payments can be dropped off at Red Deer County Centre in the ‘drop box’ located at the front entrance.

*NOTE: no cash deposits in the ‘drop box’ after hours

Utility Setup & Payment

Responding with enhanced customer focus and integrating new technologies, Red Deer County says it offers a variety of utility payment options. Officials say the monthly utility payment plan is the preferred payment option, however; payments can be made via telephone banking and online banking, or in person at Red Deer County Centre or at most banks. Mail

During the mailing disruption, Red Deer County says it will hold outgoing mail, and will continue to prepare routine mail and store it for delivery once the postal disruption has concluded. If residents wish to come to Red Deer County Centre, town officials say they can provide a print version.
