RDP Athletes of the Week: Sept. 13-14

In only her first performance in the Canadian Collegiate Rodeo Association, Kaybree Zunti made a name for herself. The first-year Bachelor of Arts in Psychology student competed in four events, earning two top 10 finishes in Benalto, Alberta.

Unity, Saskatchewan’s Zunti ranked sixth in Goat Tying (8.9) and seventh in Breakaway Roping (3.6). She also placed 15th in Pole Bending (23.51) and 18th in Barrel Racing (17.07).

Zunti and the Red Deer Polytechnic Rodeo team will compete at the University of Saskatchewan Fall Rodeo on Saturday, September 20.

Ajdin Sarcevic – Kings Soccer

Program – Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (5th)

Hometown – Red Deer, Alberta

Ajdin Sarcevic made an impact for the Red Deer Polytechnic Kings Soccer team this past weekend. Despite dropping Saturday’s game to the SAIT Trojans 4-0, the talented six-foot-two midfielder gave a heart-and soul effort, recording two shots. He was named the North Star Sports Kings Player of the Game.

Then on Sunday, Red Deer’s Sarcevic provided valuable leadership and scored late to even the game 2-2 against the Ambrose University Lions, helping the Kings pick up a crucial point in the standings. The Bachelor of Arts in Psychology student recorded two shots and earned the Player of the Game Award.

Next, Sarcevic and the RDP Kings will play the Broncos at Olds College on Sunday, September 21.
