One man has been charged and Red Deer RCMP are trying to identify two other suspects following an incident late last week in the Clearview area.

RCMP say it was about 5:25 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 12 when they received a report of a robbery with a firearm at a home on Cooper Close.

Upon arrival, members spoke to a victim who asserted that he had been robbed at gunpoint. He also said his vehicle had been stolen.

While at the home, RCMP observed said vehicle drive by, then stopped it, and arrested the driver.

It appears, RCMP say, the victim and suspects were known to each other. They’re also calling it targeted.

RCMP say the incident is believed to have occurred after the victim was invited to the home of the suspect or suspects.

Following the arrest, RCMP seized a firearm believed used in the offence.

After obtaining a warrant, they seized several other weapons from the home, including rifles and a compound bow.

Gregory Thomas April, 31, of Red Deer, faces 17 counts, including robbery with a firearm, forcible confinement, uttering threats, and 14 other gun charges.

He was remanded, and was scheduled to appear in court Sept. 15.

Two other suspects, whom RCMP have not yet identified, are still at-large.

RCMP add the victim suffered minor injuries in the incident.
