The Ross Street Magic Festival is set to return to downtown Red Deer for another enchanting day of wonder, creativity, and community spirit.

On Saturday, Oct. 4, 2025, organizers say the P4 Parking Lot will be transformed into a lively celebration of all things magical, featuring captivating performances, a bustling vendor market, and whimsical activities for all ages.

The festival, founded by Kathryn Harris, was created to showcase the charm of downtown Red Deer and highlight local businesses, all while enjoying a weekend of nerdy whimsy. Officials say it has evolved into a vibrant community event that combines artistry, imagination, culture, and small business support.

This year’s festivities include, but are not limited to:

● Curated Outdoor Vendor Market – Featuring more than 35 Albertan artisans in the P4 parking lot, curated specifically for the festival.

● Red Stags of Red Deer – Returning for another year, this local non-profit historical LARP group brings thrilling foam weapon battles, armour, and medieval-themed entertainment.

● Costume Contest & Parade – Hosted and judged by professional cosplayers, with prizes awarded to participants.

● NEW 18+ Afterparty – Presented by Private Universe, offering a magical burlesque show for adult audiences.

The Ross Street Magic Festival is a free, family-friendly event that celebrates creativity and connection. By investing in downtown Red Deer’s vibrancy, organizers say the festival invites residents and visitors alike to discover local businesses, enjoy a whimsical day out, and experience the unique character of the city’s core.
