RCMP looking for dashcam footage in fatal collision investigation

Red Deer RCMP continue to investigate a fatal collision that occurred on Aug. 30, 2025, north of Red Deer on Highway 2A.

Police are seeking public assistance and asking any witnesses or those who may have dashcam video footage, to please come forward to assist in the investigation.

It was at 9:34 a.m. that day when Red Deer RCMP received a report of a serious two-vehicle collision between an SUV and a motorcycle on Highway 2A just north of Red Deer. Upon arrival, Mounties say the driver of the motorcycle, a 48-year-old Blackfalds resident, was deceased.

The driver of the SUV, an 18-year-old female resident of Red Deer, was taken to hospital with injuries. RCMP remained on scene for several hours conducting an investigation, which remains ongoing.
