Trio of out-of-towners arrested in Lacombe with stolen vehicle

Sep 8, 2025 | 2:27 PM

Three people have been charged following an incident in Lacombe this past July.

Lacombe Police Service (LPS) say it was about 3 a.m. on July 4, when members were conducting proactive patrols in the industrial area of the 5500 block of Wolf Creek Drive, adjacent to the police detachment.

Officers say they observed three males and a large unleashed dog near a GMC Sierra cube van.

A check of the license plate revealed the van had been stolen out of Edmonton.

All three suspects were arrested at the scene for possession of stolen property. During the arrest, a set of keys matching the stolen van was located in the front right pocket of one of the subjects, police say.

A 43-year-old man from Sherwood Park, a 61-year-old from Edmonton, and a 41-year-old from Fox Creek were all charged with possession of stolen property over $5,000, and two were charged with failing to comply with release conditions.

The three individuals were released on an undertaking with conditions, including to appear in Red Deer Provincial court on September 10.

The stolen cube van has since been returned to its registered owner.
