Red Deer ‘Walk a Mile in Her Shoes’ returns Sept. 12

The annual Walk a Mile in Her Shoes is back this month, in support of Red Deer’s The Outreach Centre and raising awareness about domestic and gender-based violence.
The event goes Sept. 12 at 12 p.m. in downtown Red Deer.
It features a large group of men walking in solidarity and wearing red high heels, what’s become a symbol of the cause.
The Outreach Centre provides supports, advocacy and services to individuals and families experiencing violence. From safety and transitional housing, to counselling and safety planning, they provide life-changing and life-saving support to survivors.
