Top-3 finish for Red Deer’s Bennett Love, and Lacombe’s Lynn Kuehn competes hard at national tournaments

A pair of local golfers competed in significant national tournaments this week.

Red Deer’s Bennett Love finished in a tie for third at the 2025 Canadian U15 Championship, held at Pitt Meadows Golf Club in B.C.

Love shot two rounds of 70 and 74 to finish at even par, just five strokes off the lead. He also tied with Jayden Arnold of Calgary for top Albertan.

At the Canadian Women’s Senior Championship, at B.C.’s Nanaimo Golf Club, Lacombe’s Lynn Kuehn also showed improvement on the final day.

Despite a +38 finish which left her tied for 37th, Kuehn birdied 16, a hole which she hadn’t done better than par on over the first two rounds.

Her 87 on day three was preceded by rounds of 88 and 79, and she was the fifth-best Albertan on the week.

In the super senior division, Kuehn’s score was good for a tie of 22nd, and the top Albertan.
