Dress for Success Central Alberta has announced they’ve been awarded a $21,711 grant from the provincial government.

The funds came from the Government of Alberta’s Community Initiatives Program (CIP), Project-Based Grant Stream, which will support the development of Dress for Success’ innovative career hub.

The career hub is a new initiative aimed at advancing economic empowerment for women across Central Alberta. It is an online platform available 24/7 designed to help women transition into new roles and grow into leadership positions.

“Alberta’s government proudly supports Dress for Success and its commitment to empowering women through employment services and economic development. Organizations like yours help women gain confidence, secure employment and achieve financial independence. Your dedicated services play a vital role in building healthy, vibrant and more resilient communities across the province,” shared the Honourable Tanya Fir, Minister of Arts, Culture and Status of Women in a media release.

The hub will be launched this fall, marking an important moment in the organization’s mission to support women on their path to economic independence.

“We are grateful to the Government of Alberta for recognizing the importance of this initiative,” said Lee Ann Waines, Board Chair of Dress for Success Central Alberta. “This support allows us to take a major step forward in creating accessible, impactful resources for women in our community.”
