Rate changes coming to City of Red Deer rec facilities and cemetery services
The City of Red Deer has announced as of Sept. 1, there will be rate changes to fees at the city’s recreation facilities and cemetery services.
The change comes following 2024-25 budget deliberations by city council where they agreed an increase to admission fees, facility rental rates, and cemetery services was needed to account for rising operational costs.
“Our ongoing priority is to ensure broad access to recreation opportunities, even as we address rising costs, staffing limitations, and increased maintenance demands,” says Bre Fitzpatrick, Acting Recreation Superintendent. “As part of that commitment, we continue to offer the Fee Assistance Program to support residents who need financial assistance in accessing City Arts and Recreation programs and services.”
As a result, daily admission to the Collicutt Centre, G.H. Dawe Community Centre, Recreation Centre, Michener Aquatic Centre, Servus Arena, Kinsmen Community Arenas and Setters Place at Great Chief Park has changed. The facility rental rates are also changing.
