Clearwater County man set for trial in Innisfail arson case

Aug 15, 2025 | 12:00 PM

A Clearwater County man accused of setting fire to a business in Innisfail in 2024 will have a jury trial in September 2026.

Tyler Giglia, now 40, is charged in relation to an incident which happened June 19 of last year.

At the time, RCMP said it was just before 8 a.m. when they received a report of a person spraying gasoline on a commercial building on the town’s east side.

The building was that of a company called Pro-N2, at 35421 Range Road 282.

While en route, RCMP learned the building had been lit on fire.

RCMP located the suspect while crews knocked down the fire, but not before significant damage was done. RCMP say damages were estimated at $600,000.

Giglia was charged with arson, and break and enter with intent.

He is slated for a pre-trial conference this December, and then trial by jury from Sept. 8-16, 2026, in Court of King’s Bench at the Red Deer Justice Centre.
