A Red Deer man has been charged with child exploitation offences following an investigation led by the Lacombe Police Service.

Police began their investigation on Aug. 3, 2025 after receiving a public tip, and later made an arrest without incident.

As a result, 44-year-old Kory Reay has been charged with making child pornography available, possession of child pornography, and accessing child pornography.

The accused appeared before a Justice of the Peace and was released on extensive conditions. His next court appearance is scheduled for Aug. 27 at the Red Deer Justice Centre.

“The Lacombe Police Service remains steadfast in our commitment to protecting the most vulnerable members of our community,” said Chief Jason Dobirstein of the Lacombe Police Service.

“Through strong partnerships and dedicated investigative efforts, we continue to pursue those who exploit children online. We extend our sincere thanks to ALERT’s Internet Child Exploitation Unit for their expertise and support throughout this investigation.”
