Advance voting for Battle River-Crowfoot byelection begins Friday

Advance voting for the federal byelection in Battle River-Crowfoot officially begins Friday.

According to Elections Canada, residents of the riding will be able to take part in advance voting from Friday through Monday, Aug. 11.

The polls will be open each day from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and voters must cast their ballot at their assigned polling station.

Those interested can find the address of their polling station on the back of their voter information card or by visiting the Elections Canada website. Electors can also find that information by calling 1-800-463-6868.

Residents can also vote early at the local Elections Canada office in Battle River-Crowfoot at 6601 48 Avenue, Suite 27 in Camrose until Tuesday, Aug. 12 at 6 p.m.

They can also vote early via mail by applying online by August 12, 6 p.m., and returning their special ballot by mail. If the return envelope is addressed to the local Elections Canada office, they can also drop off their ballot in person at that office before polls close on election day.

Elections Canada added that guides to the byelection in Battle River–Crowfoot are now in the mail.

A guide has been mailed to each household in the Battle River–Crowfoot riding, which reminds electors that if they have not received a voter information card showing their correct name and address, they should take steps to register to vote or update their registration.

Voters have until Tuesday, August 12, 6 p.m. to register or update their registration which can be done online, by contacting the Elections Canada office, or at advance polls.

Those who have not registered by the deadline can register at their assigned polling station just before they vote on election day.
