Sylvan Lake Gulls clinch playoff spot

The Sylvan Lake Gulls are headed to the Western Canadian Baseball League (WCBL) postseason.

They clinched a spot in the 2025 WCBL Playoffs with a pair of wins over the Fort McMurray Giants on July 27.

They beat the Giants 12-2 in the first game of the double header followed by an 8-1 victory later that evening.

With four games left in the regular season, Sylvan Lake is in third place in the West Division with a 33-19 record. They trail the second-place Lethbridge Bulls who have a 32-18 record and are three and a half games back from the first-place Okotoks Dawgs with a 36-15 record.

The Gulls have fallen to the Okotoks Dawgs in the West Division Final the last three playoff appearances.
