Alberta Sports Hall of Fame to induct special class of overdue names at ‘Legends Unveiled’

Jul 23, 2025 | 3:09 PM

The Alberta Sports Hall of Fame will hold a first-time ever, very special ceremony this September, to induct a group of legends who should’ve had their name called by now.

The event is called ‘Legends Unveiled,’ and it’s happening from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 27 at the Hall of Fame in Red Deer. Tickets are $50.

“This celebration is about shining a long-overdue spotlight on the remarkable individuals whose impact on sport in Alberta is truly inspiring,” says Tracey Kinsella, executive director.

“We’re honoured to recognize this extraordinary class of inductees and share their stories with Albertans on September 27 at the Alberta Sports Hall of Fame.”

The special class will feature the first ever inductees in any motorsport, including the teams of Ray Peets with Gary Beck, and Gordie Bonin with Gordon Jenner and Ron Hodgson.

Also included is Edmonton CFL icon, 5x Grey Cup champion, and 2006 Pro Football Hall of Famer, Warren Moon.
