Tickets available for Saturday’s Alberta Hockey Hall of Fame induction gala in Red Deer

Tickets are still available for the 2025 Alberta Hockey Hall of Fame gala and induction ceremony, which goes down this Saturday, July 19 at the Gary W. Harris Canada Games Centre.

The Hall will honour Ryan Smyth, Joe Nieuwendyk, Cliff Fletcher, Carla MacLeod, Howie Draper, Garry Unger, and the 1995 Calgary Canucks at the 43rd annual celebration.

Al Coates, Hall chairmen, and 1989 Stanley Cup champion with the Calgary Flames, as a member of the team’s executive, says the night will be full of entertainment, and you may even get to meet your hero.

“The gala is an opportunity to celebrate the rich history of hockey in Alberta and the people in this great province that have made hockey so special and contributed so much, either in the province, nationally or even internationally,” Coates says.

“From a selection standpoint, we never have any any issue coming up with great, great candidates to be able to induct, and this year is no different. When we look at the growth of the women’s game, the amateur side and keeping people playing, getting people playing and onto the pro level, both women and men, it’s incredible; we have no shortage.”
