Synopsis
Kímmapiiyipitssini: The Meaning of Empathy is a co-production between Seen Through Women Productions and the National Film Board of Canada through their North West Studio. The film follows filmmaker Elle-Máijá Tailfeathers as she creates an intimate portrait of her community and the impacts of the drug poisoning epidemic. Witness the change brought by community members with substance-use disorder, first responders and medical professionals as they strive for harm reduction in the Kainai First Nation.

Story Money Impact is presenting a free screening of the film Kímmapiiyipitssini: The Meaning of Empathy on Thursday, Aug. 7 at 6:30 pm at Carnival Cinemas in Red Deer. Join us for free popcorn when the doors open at 6:00 pm.
The film will be followed by a panel discussion with local harm reduction experts. This community screening will be an opportunity for NGOs, politicians, grassroots leaders, people with lived experience, and Red Deer residents to be in relationship with each other about this urgent issue.
