Former central Alberta MP, who resigned for Poilievre to run, hired by consultancy group
Damien Kurek, the former Member of Parliament for Battle River-Crowfoot who stepped aside recently so Conservative Party leader Pierre Poilievre could regain a seat in the House of Commons, has resurfaced.
Kurek was announced Friday as the new principal at Upstream Strategy Group, a government relations and public affairs consultancy based in Toronto and Regina.
The company says Kurek, who was elected in 2019 and 2021, before his re-election in 2025, will lead its expansion into Alberta.
“There’s no better time than the Calgary Stampede for me to join Upstream Strategy Group,” said Kurek.
