Red Deer Public Library to hold free outdoor concert July 3

The Friends of the Red Deer Public Library have announced its annual outdoor concert will feature the Polka Dot Dixies.

The free concert will be held on Thursday, July 3 from 12:15 p.m. to 1 p.m. in the city gardens on the west side of City Hall.

Organizers ask those hoping to attend should bring a lawn chair and register online on the Red Deer Public Library website. However, if you’re unable to attend in-person, the concert will be streamed on the Red Deer Public Library YouTube channel.

If there is inclement weather, the concert will be held at the Snell Auditorium in Red Deer.

The Polka Dot Dixies, also known as the Parkland Dixielanders, are a band formed in 2021 from Red Deer and Innisfail that play waltzes, polkas, rock, and pop music.

If anyone wants to support these concerts, cheques should be made out to the Red Deer Public Library, with a memo for concerts. A charitable receipt will be issued.
