The Alberta Junior Hockey League has announced its exhibition and regular season schedules ahead of the 2025-26 campaign.

The Olds Grizzlys will play five exhibition games beginning on Aug. 30, against the defending league and national champion Calgary Canucks at Ken Bracko Arena at 5 p.m.. The next day, the two teams will face off in a rematch at 5 p.m. at the Olds Sportsplex.

The Grizzlys will complete the preseason with three games in September against the Fort McMurray Oil Barons and Drumheller Dragons.

They’ll open the regular season on Friday, Sept. 19 in a matchup in Drayton Valley against the Thunder at 7 p.m. at the Omniplex. The next day, the Grizzlys return home for a four-game home stand, which begins on Saturday, Sept. 20 against the Camrose Kodiaks.

The regular season features a 54-game schedule for each team, including four games versus each member of the opposite division and six games against teams within the division.

The 2026 AJHL Playoffs will begin on Friday, March 20, and each series will be best-of-seven.

Those in attendance will see the top four teams in each division advance to determine a division champion at the conclusion of the second round.

The South Division Champion and North Division Champion will then compete in the 2026 AJHL Final.

In April, the Grizzlys announced a new ownership group would take over the reigns of the organization.

Calgary businessman Moe Jamal is the principal owner and is joined by former NHL player Jay Beagle in a supporting role.

In addition, the organization announced a brand new coaching staff with the exception of assistant coach and Grizzlys alumnus, Mitch Visser, who will continue in his role.

The other assistant coach is 34-year-old Dylan Olsen and stepping in as head coach is Cochrane’s Tyson Soloski, 32, who most recently led the U18 team at the Calgary International Hockey Academy.
