Red Deer home sales increase in May

Red Deer home sales saw an increase last month but are lower compared to the same month last year.

According to the latest market update from Central Alberta Realtors Association, there were 185 home sales in Red Deer in May, up from 176 in April but down from 202 home sales in May 2024.

Year-to-date numbers show 736 homes sales in Red Deer during the first five months of 2025, compared to 784 during the same time last year.

The average sale price in Red Deer last month was $400,782, up from $393,709 in April, and on par with $400,990 in May 2024.

The average number of days to sell a home in Red Deer last month was 29, up from 24 days in April but lower than 31 days to sell during the same month last year.

For the entire central Alberta market, there were 641 units sold last month, up from 500 units sold in April and up slightly from 632 units sold in May 2024.

Year-to-date numbers show 2,167 units sold in the first five months of 2025, down from 2,298 units sold during the same time last year.

The average sale price throughout the entire central Alberta market last month was $431,858, down slightly from $432,446 in April but up from $410,480 in May 2024.

The average number of days to sell a home in central Alberta last month was unavailable at the time of publishing. April’s number and that of May 2024 was also unavailable.
