Jun 12, 2025 | 11:39 AM

It should be a beautiful weekend for the 7th annual Battle at the Beach returns to Sylvan Lake.

Registration is now closed for the event, taking place June 14-15, and it does go rain or shine.

Teams will have unique jerseys for this three-on-three tournament, and have seven players per team. Spectators are more than welcome.

It includes U7-U18 divisions, an adult division and a new, all ages female division. Players may move up a division but cannot move down.

Games start around 8 a.m., go all day and into the evening.

Division birth years are as follows:

  • U7: 2018-2019
  • U9: 2016-2017
  • U11: 2014-2015
  • U13: 2012-2013
  • U15: 2010-2011
  • U18: 2007-2009
  • Adults: 1900-2006

Activities returning for the adult division include:

  • Hardest shot station
  • Accuracy shooting station
  • Accuracy race station
  • Food trucks
  • Barbecue
  • Special Olympics celebrity game
  • Prize for winner
  • Prize for best jersey

Helmets, gloves and shoes are mandatory to participate, and goalies are expected to wear street hockey equipment. Floor ball sticks without a ball pocket are allowed; those with a ball pocket at the toe are not allowed, as the ball cannot come off the ground.

Teams will play a minimum of four games and up to six or seven depending on registration numbers. Related: Battle at the Beach in Sylvan Lake!
