The Red Deer Rebels announced they’ve signed a pair of players who were selected in the 2025 WHL Prospects Draft to a WHL Scholarship and Development Agreement.

This includes forward Chace Turchak and defenceman Owen Archer, both of whom were taken in the second round.

Turchak, who stands five-feet 10-inches tall and 147 pounds, played last season with the Calgary CBHA U15 AAA Bisons of the Alberta Elite Hockey League (AEHL) where he scored 24 goals and 28 assists for 52 points in 32 games.

The 15-year-old also notched 13 points in 12 playoff games and two goals in five games at the U15 AAA Provincial Championships in Red Deer.

“He seemed to get better and better every time we saw him,” said Jamie Novakoski, Rebels Director of Player Personnel in a media release. “He was noticeable and took over the game with a strong forecheck. He finishes his checks and he’s good great hockey sense, creates turnovers and creates chances for his linemates.”

Meanwhile, Archer suited up for the St. Albert U15 AAA Sabres in the AEHL this season.

Standing six-feet two-inches tall and 189 pounds, the 15-year-old had three goals and 19 assists for 21 points in 19 games.

The right-shooting defenceman also had six points in five playoff games and five points at Provincials.

“He’s another big kid who gets around the ice fine, moves the puck and has good hockey sense with some nastiness to his game too,” Novakoski said.

This comes nearly 24 hours after the Rebels signed their 2025 WHL Prospects Draft first round selection, Nolan Wolitski.

The St. Albert defenceman was picked seventh overall.
