Innisfail RCMP investigating alleged arson in Raspberry Park

The Innisfail RCMP and Innisfail Fire Department responded to bush fires on Sunday they believe were intentionally set.

On June 8 at 3:34 p.m. they were called to Raspberry Park in Innisfail after fires were lit in numerous locations within the wooded area.

Crews were able to extinguish the fires with no reported injuries or damage to property.

Police say intentional lighting of fires poses a significant risk to the community and that the combination of the dry conditions and uncontrolled fires could be catastrophic.

Meantime, police are investigating the incident.
