The Mustard Seed urgently calling for water bottle donations
The Mustard Seed is urgently calling on the community for water bottle donations as the temperatures rise and the summer season approaches.
Officials note, the high temperatures and dry conditions are expected to continue for some time and these extreme conditions are putting the homeless community at risk of heat-related illness and dehydration.
“We know that heat can be just as dangerous as cold for those without access to shelter or hydration,” said Dave Conrad, Senior Director of Community Engagement & Volunteer Services at The Mustard Seed. “A simple bottle of water can be life-saving. We’re asking the community to come together and help us meet the need before it becomes critical.”
At this time, the organization is working to stock up on water as they typically hand out thousands of bottles to guests across their shelters.
